Join us on the eve of Workers’ Day as we celebrate this important day, with the film screening of Norma Rae, based on a true story of a woman who fights for the rights of workers at her workplace. The film’s narrative follows Norma Rae, a factory worker from a small town in North Carolina who becomes involved in the labor union activities at the textile factory where she works after the health of her and her co-workers is compromised.
The film will be followed by a short talk by Kendrick Bondin of GWU who will talk about the current legislation for workers in Malta.
You’ll also be able to enjoy some drinks and nibbles after the film.
