Join us for a screening of ‘Herself’ on 20th November at 18:30, in the lead up to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
The 2020 film, directed by Phyllida Lloyd, follows Sandra, a single mother who leaves and moves away from her abusive partner. She struggles to move on independently with her two young daughters, but is determined to find her own way. The film’s title may suggest that Sandra ends up building her future alone, however this impactful story explores how she succeeds with the help of others.
After the screening, we will have a brief discussion about the film and relating to violence against women in the local context, followed by some drinks and nibbles.
Entrance is free, and you are welcome to bring snacks or purchase drinks from the bar!
See you there!
