Malta’s prison system has been repeatedly flagged as inhumane, arbitrary and ultimately, ineffective in its goal of rehabilitating offenders by several media outlets.
As Moviment Graffitti, we have organised this event in conjunction with KSU to provide a platform for a much-needed discussion on this subject.
The event will feature a panel composed of former journalist and prison reform activist Peppi Azzopardi, David Grech, a man who was held under arrest and spoke of the conditions he was held in earlier this year, forensic psychologist Roberta Holland, RISe foundation president Charles Mifsud and criminology academic Mary Grace Vella.
The discussion will be held at the KSU-PwC Common Room in Msida on July 7 at 6pm, with very limited seating options available due to COVID-19 restrictions.

We will be discussing alternatives to Malta’s prison system with the aim of spreading more awareness on the conditions being endured and the possibilities of a better, more humane future.
The panel discussion will be hosted by Moviment Graffitti activist Julian Delia.
