Ġustizzja għal Artna campaign denies claims Government and NGOs are close to agreement on planning reform

The Ġustizzja għal Artna campaign refers to a report published by the Times of Malta this Sunday, with title ‘Revisions to planning law changes near, but key hurdle remains’, which suggested that the Government and environmental organisations were close to an agreement relating to the Government’s planning reform.

The campaign wishes to clarify that at the moment it has no visibility into the changes which the Government will make to the planning reform, since no draft has been circulated.

The campaign was thus not in a position to review any changes, and has not committed to any changes.

The fact that talks have been held with the Government does not mean that any agreement has been reached.

In the absence of any further information, the position of the campaign remains the same, that is that Bills 143, 144 and the legal notices should be withdrawn.
