Moviment Graffitti is once again organising its whole-day ‘Reclaim the World’ event. The theme of this 5^th consecutive edition of the Reclaim the World event is; ‘People before Profit’, and will focus on the relevance of environment protection and sustainability, with a particular focus on the issue of climate change. This activity will be held on Saturday 20th October, 2007 at Freedom Square in Valletta, between 10:00 and 23:00.

The morning session of the activity will be primarily aimed at increasing public awareness on environmental protection issues through public discussions and exhibitions, whilst in the evening a live musical concert through the performance of a number of local artists will be held.

Apart from Moviment Graffitti, a number of other humanitarian and environmental voluntary organisations will partake in this event through the setting up of information stands to promote their just causes, which vary from environmental protection and animal welfare, promotion of ethical and development issues such as fair trade, and promotion of fundamental rights and freedoms such as workers’ and minority rights, including LGBT issues.

Between 10:00a.m and 12:00a.m., two public discussions will be held. The first discussion which will be presented by Vince Caruana deals with the issue of Global Warming whilst the latter dealing with the issue of; ‘Speculation versus Sustainable Development’ will carry the contribution of Michael Briguglio (Zminijietna), Roderick Galdes (MLP), Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando (PN) and Harry Vassallo (AD) and will be chaired and facilitated by journalist James Debono.

The musical concert will be held between 20:00 and 23:00 and will feature the performance of a number of different music genres; varying from folk-blues to soft-rock and punk-rock. The local artists participating in this event are Walter Micallef, Access-to, Rage Against Society, Subculture, and Batteries Not Included.

Participation in the whole event is totally free

The film is about culture diversity and immigration. The event is organized by Simona Lippi (Koperattiva Kummerc Gust) in collaboration with Moviment Graffitti.
